Second shuttle on standby for rescue mission
POSTED 09/20/08 - On Sunday, the Atlantis astronauts are set to fly from their home base at Johnson Space Center in Houston to Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where they will participate in the STS-125 Terminal Countdown Demonstration Test next week. The training activities and countdown rehearsal will run from September 22 through 24. Ten-Week Operation targets violent offenders statewide

POSTED 09/18/08 - Scores of fugitives – from the Panhandle to the Keys – are now behind bars courtesy of a U.S. Marshals-led sweep targeting the "worst-of-the-worst" offenders statewide. The U.S. Marshals Service, assisted by federal, state and local law enforcement across Florida, arrested 2,497 fugitives and cleared 2,943 warrants statewide as part of Operation Orange Crush. Florida agency earns $5.4 Million bonus

POSTED 09/18/08 - Florida's Department of Children and Families received a high performance bonus check in the amount of $5,481,910 Tuesday from USDA's Food, Nutrition and Consumer Services Deputy Under Secretary Kate Houston in a ceremony in Tallahassee. The check was for the Department's improved payment accuracy rate of 95.85 percent in issuing food stamp benefits last year. More...
