ABET awarded grant

The Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre (ABET) has been awarded $9,500 to purchase new lighting and sound equipment. Trustees of The Community Foundation have awarded 20 grants for a total of nearly $500,000 to several organizations. The ABET grant will be used for equipment upgrades at the theater.


Limelight present the Seventh Annual Celebrity Cabaret

The Limelight Theatre's Board of Directors will present the seventh annual Celebrity Cabaret fundraiser on November 19, 20, 21 and 22. The show features many of St. Augustine's most prominent residents performing a variety of musical numbers, lip-syncing the lyrics in full costume and creatively choreographed. Tickets are $75.00 per person and include a pre-show cocktail party beginning at 7 p.m. with open bar throughout the evening and hors d'oeuvres by Carrabba's Italian Grill. The curtain rises at 8 p.m. at the Limelight Theatre, 11 Old Mission Avenue, St. Augustine. For information and reservations, call the box office at (904) 825-1164.


It's a Wonderful Life auditions

The Gainesville Community Playhouse

Based on the popular movie, It's a Wonderful Life is the story of family man George Bailey who has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all - and it's Christmas ! As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence. Clarence then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn't been for all his good deeds over the years.

Leading Ladies
A Comedy

In this hilarious comedy by the author of Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo, two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves down on their luck. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble begins when they find out that the relatives aren't nephews, but nieces!
