Caught on Tape Caught on TapeEveryone knows teens and young adults like to break loose and have a little fun by doing kooky things. But what happens when that fun crosses the line and becomes illegal or dangerous? A recently discovered YouTube video documents just such questionable behavior and has caused the Baker County Sheriff’s Department to launch an investigation into "the potentially dangerous incident," according to Sheriff Joey Dobson. YouTube is the self described "Broadcast Yourself" website that hosts literally millions of videos on their site. It is one of the most popularly accessed spots on the Internet. Thanks to modern technology, the adventurous set can record their exploits and share them with the world. Videos from all over the world are easily accessible with just a few clicks of the keyboard. Among the enormous catalog of clips are everything from television bloopers, to silly pet antics and amateur video that shows a slice of life. Macclenny has 72 videos listed that show things like dirt road skiing, church singing and barrel horse racing. The video under investigation documents something far more serious. It is titled "Rednecks in Macclenny" and is labeled as the product of Crazy Hayes Productions. Posted in 2007, the clip is subtitled, "Rednecks in MacClenny have a brilliant idea of attaching grenade to rocket launchers." The 2:50 minute clip starts out with typical Baker County behavior, showing motorcycles and four wheelers racing down dirt roads, along with a truck burnout. While those may be illegal and even possibly dangerous, what follows in the video is what has Sheriff Dobson really concerned. After a caption that says, "The cool thing about Macclenny is you can shoot grenade launchers," the action shifts to an open rural field where a man shoots off a grenade launcher. The grenade explodes in the distance. Then another caption appears that states, "Better yet you can tie a grenade to a rocket." That is followed by a medium sized rocket being ignited and shot up into the air. It flies a short distance before whirling around and crashing back to earth, where the grenade eventually explodes close to the launch site. What makes the dangerous situation of critical concern, is a younger bystander is seen approaching the landing zone of the undetonated grenade. Several voices are heard yelling "RUN, RUN, RUN" right before the grenade explodes in a white cloud of smoke. The camera pans to a group of more than a dozen spectators standing around clustered vehicles. Faces in the crowd are clearly identifiable, as are some structures in the background. "I have been made aware of the video and we are investigating the matter," said Sheriff Dobson. "We are very concerned about this potentially dangerous situation and will fully investigate to find the responsible parties involved." The Sheriff also expressed his intentions to discover how the grenades and rocket launcher were obtained by Baker County residents. His concern is heightened because the video ends with the caption, "More to Come." "This video is especially troubling in light of the recent mock terror drills we just completed at the high school," said Dobson. He was referencing two simulated drills at Baker County High School, where deputies and emergency responders enacted a practice drill scenario of rampaging shooters on the local school campus to train on how to handle the situation.
