Player Spotlight - Baker County’s Jarvis (Hank) Farmer

By DAVID THEUS

Player Spotlight - Baker County’s Jarvis
Jarvis (Hank) Farmer
(Hank) Farmer

Hank Farmer #30, starting middle linebacker and sometimes fullback for the Baker County Wildcats weighs in at 225 pounds and is 6 feet tall. Hank is deceptively quick with his 4.6 speed in the 40 yard dash. This young man loves the game for the contact and the outlet it offers to take out his anger on his opponent.

Hank is the quintessential representation of hard work. Whether it be in the weight room in the off season, or on the practice field he is the first one on and the last to leave. This guy gives for his team.

His favorite college team is the Florida Gators and he credits his older brother Bo Clayton for his work ethic and attitude on and off the field and in the class room. When I asked him what his favorite trash talk was, he smiled really big and said: "Come to Daddy…Come on Baby, Come to Daddy."

Hank understands fully his role in the class room and exceeds in all of his endeavors. While maintaining a 3.2 GPA, his favorite subject is math and favorite teacher is Mrs. Hayes. Hank would like to attend the University of Florida and pursue a degree in Physical Therapy. His favorite meal time treat is fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. As for dessert, ice cream - he didn’t specify any particular flavor, just ice cream.

I asked him if he were to be remembered for anything after graduating from Baker County High School, what would he like it to be, Hank replied simply that he would be remembered for being a great kid and great role model for others. In my book, he already is.
