Library cards can be virtual movie tickets

The St. Johns County Public Library System is launching MyLibraryDV, a new on-demand video service that transforms local library cards into virtual movie tickets.

The new service is free to all St. Johns County Public Library card holders in good standing.

Library users can download from a collection of movies and lifestyle programs any time as long as they have a broadband Internet connection.

Classic, independent and foreign films, as well as lifestyle, health, travel and cooking programs are available, as are PBS children's programs and special library programs.

To begin using MyLibraryDV, visit http://www.sjcpls.org/mylibrarydv.aspx to install the software and begin watching videos on demand. To complete the sign-up process, a valid library card number will be required.

Trade Show

The annual Beaches Trade Show will be held November 17 from 5-8 p.m. at UNF's University Center. Cost is $275 for a six-foot table and $300 for an eight-foot table.

FCCJ to host Fall Job Fair

The Rosanne R. Hartwell Women's Center, WorkSource and the Career Development Centers at Florida Community College invite job seekers to meet and interview with local employers at their Fall Job Fair October 22 from 9 a.m.-noon.

The Job Fair will be held at the Florida Community College Advanced Technology Center at401 W. State Street in Jacksonville. It is free and open to the public.

Job seekers are encouraged to dress as if for a job interview and to bring copies of their résumés. For more information call 904-646-2300.

Employers wishing to participate are reminded that reservations are required and space is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration includes the opportunity to list your available jobs on the College's electronic Job Board, College Central Network. Regional Economic Development forum

The Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership is hosting a regional economic development forum on October 3 from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Officials and business leaders from Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns counties will be on hand to discuss economic development opportunities and issues facing the region.
