The famous (and infamous) DJ who put Jacksonville and the now-defunct WAPE on the map so to speak, is back in Jacksonville.

Doug "The Greaseman" Tracht was one of the most well-know radio personality’s of the north Florida area from 1975-1982. A "shock jock" before the term was even coined, Tracht was the on-air embodiment of a beer-swilling redneck who the expression "politically correct" would never have been used.

Tracht left Jacksonville for Washington. D.C. where he took over the morning drive time slot from Howard Stern.

He returns to Jacksonville on Rock 105, WFYV-FM 104.5, from 3 to 7 p.m. weekdays beginning this afternoon, October 1.
