Three face battery charges

Three women are in trouble with the law after an altercation at a Birthday party on September 21. Police were dispatched to one call to find Selena Renee Roberts, 35, of Glen St. Mary, bruised and bloody. She told officers she was at a party on Webb Road when she was attacked by Tabatha Zeigler.

She said as she tried to leave the residence, another woman, Phoebe Nipper, grabbed her and started hitting her as well.

When interviewed, Zeigler, 35, of Macclenny, said that a short time after arriving at the party she noticed Roberts and told the hostess she was going to leave. Instead Roberts was asked to leave because she was not invited. At that time, Roberts approached her saying "**** you Tabatha."

Zeigler said she pointed at Roberts at which time Roberts then bit her finger "to the bone" so she started punching and kicking her in order to free her finger.

Phoebe Nipper, 27, or Glen St. Mary, was interviewed and stated that after hearing of the fight she went to help Roberts look for her keys. She asked Roberts to stay in her vehicle and away from Zeigler while they searched. She alleges Roberts then hit her with a beer bottle.

Roberts was transported to Fraser Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Tabatha Zeigler was arrested for battery on the incident with Selena Roberts. Charges of battery are being filed through the State Attorney’s Office on Roberts for both incidents with Zeigler and Phoebe Nipper. Guns stolen from Macclenny home

When a Macclenny homeowner noticed the key missing from his gun case, he just though it had been misplaced and asked a friend’s son if he knew what happened to it. David Brannen said a family member had been in the room earlier and may have moved it. A short while later, Brannen said he had spoken with her and she told him she had the key and would return it soon.

The homeowner said he waited a few days before calling the girl himself and asking her about the key. At that time she stated she was never had the key or was asked about it.

After finding that out, the victim decided to break into his gun cabinet to check on his guns. He discovered seven pistols and a shotgun missing. The guns were valued at $2,650.

A friend of Brannen was interviewed and told officers that Brannen had confided that he took the guns and traded them to a man named "juicy" for crack cocaine and asked him to help him get them back.

Brannen has entered a medical facility at this time and had not been interviewed at the time of the report. Charges are pending.
