Annual Charity 5K race October 11 Annual Charity 5K race October 11POSTED 10/02/2008 - St. Johns Town Center teams up with The RITA Foundation (Research Is The Answer) to host a benefit 5K race on Saturday, October 11. Participants can raise funds for the charity of their choice, as designated on sponsor forms, during the walk/run. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. in the Park Green at Maggiano's, and the event kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with the start and finish line also at the Park Green. The course will run through the main streets of Midtown Parkway, River City Drive and through the community center. To participate in the event, entry forms can be obtained at 1st Place Sports or on the website, www.1stplacesports.com. The entry fee is $17 until October 4, $22 from October 5 - 10, and $25 day of the event. Prize money of $200, $100 and $50 will be awarded to the top three men and women overall, plus awards will be given to the first masters male and female, and to the top three finishers in each age group from 10 and under to 75 and over.
