Researchers seek Florida kids for 21-year studyOrganizers of a national health study are seeking about 3,600 Florida youngsters to track from the womb to their 21st birthdays. The National Children’s Study announced Friday that more than $3 billion will be spent on the massive research project that will study about 100,000 children nationwide to get understanding into what role genetics and environment play in autism, obesity, asthma, learning disabilities and many other conditions. Women and children won’t start enrolling until 2010. The study eventually will include 3,600 children from Baker, Orange, Hillsborough and Miami-Dade counties. The Job Fair will be held at the Florida Community College Advanced Technology Center at401 W. State Street in Jacksonville. It is free and open to the public.
