Suspect in custody after multiple burglaries
     POSTED 10/10/2008 - The Fernandina Beach Police Department has announced an adult has been arrested and charged with several vehicle, residential and commercial burglaries, as well as criminal mischief and Loitering/prowling. All of these incidents occurred between September 22nd and October 6, 2008.

Florida fights to keep cell phones out of prison cells
     Those who attempt to smuggle cell phones into Florida prisons could end up spending up to five years in one under a new law enacted October 1, 2008 making the introduction of cell phones into prison a third degree felony.

Gas station gives $2,000 to Red Cross to settle price gouging allegations
     Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced his office has reached an agreement with a Quincy gas station over allegations of price gouging in the wake of Hurricane Ike. Kelly Junior #9 will pay $2,000 to the American Red Cross and will reimburse consumers who were overcharged for gasoline.
