The New Xbox Live Experience

Now if you were like me and thought that you would be looking at a new design on your Xbox Dashboard last Monday you may have awakened on Tuesday morning and said something that I cannot repeat in this article.

I called Xbox and asked about the update and they said, "the update was to be ready to usher in the new Xbox Experience." When I asked about when the new experience was to make its first appearance they said, "this holiday season."

However, even though you thought that the new "experience" was upon you, do you actually know what it is or what it embodies? I didn’t until I did a little research, so now I am able to enlighten you as well.

First off obviously the dashboard has been remodeled, with a new theme.

"It’s a world where the best games, movies, and TV shows live side-by-side with your personal pictures and music library, and the experience is ready to share anytime with friends in your living room or across the globe through Xbox Live." - Xbox

Everyone has heard about the Avatars. Well, you and your friends Avatars can now join up with 100 other Avatars and play a game of "1 vs. 100" now every entertainment experience can be a shared social experience.

We’ve all heard about all of these things though so what are the new features?

Netflix will now be available on the Xbox 360. More than 10,000 feature films and television shows are available instantly to all Xbox Live Gold Members who have a Netflix subscription.

A new channel on Xbox Live called Xbox Primetime allows you to play game shows like "1 vs 100" with real hosts, fresh content as well as prizes just like there TV counter parts.

You will now be able to create an online party on the dashboard and share every experience together. Play a game, voice chat while watching a movie, share pictures, or even play a game show with up to eight friends.

Finally of course are the Avatars. The Avatar lets you bring your own personality to your Xbox 360. Avatars can be yourself or if your creative genius is out and about you can take on an alter ego, dress them however you want.
