Fishing Report for Northeast Florida

By CAPTAIN BRIAN WALKER

Fishing Report for Northeast Florida

POSTED 10/09/2008 - Fishing has been great from Jacksonville to St. Augustine. October is a great month to target flounder. Fishing docks, jetties, and creek mouths are where you want to target flounder this month. Mullet and mud minnows are great baits to use for flounder using a jig head. If you prefer artificial, a 3" Gulp on a jig head is hard to beat.

Red fishing has been on fire this last week and will continue to stay great the next couple months. Fishing the last of the outgoing tide and the first of the incoming tide you should do excellent. Top water plugs fished early and late in the day will produce not only nice reds but large trout.

It is nice that we are getting the cooler mornings. It makes a nice start in the morning.
