Steelers rally for late win
The Jacksonville Jaguars defense faded at the end resulting in a 26-21 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.
The game started just right for the Jags with an interception by Rashean Mathis on Pittsburg quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Mathis returned the interception 72 yards for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead.
After the Steelers tied the game, David Garrard responded with a long touchdown drive. A pass-interference penalty against Steelers put the ball at the one-yard line.
Garrard drove the team76-yards to score early in the fourth quarter to give the Jaguars a one-point lead.
However, with just 2:57 left in the game, the Steelers completed an 18-yard pass to convert a third-and-eight situation. Three plays later the Steelers scored.

RASHEAN MATHIS HAS CAREER-LONG 72-YARD INTERCEPTION RETURN
Rashean Mathis intercepted Ben Roethlisberger in the first quarter and returned it a career-long 72 yards for a touchdown. Mathis has three career interceptions returned for touchdowns, the most in franchise history, and a franchise-best 23 career interceptions. Mathis has five interceptions against Pittsburgh in six games (including playoffs) including three returned for touchdowns. The 72-yard return was the second-longest in team history and Mathis recorded the third-longest in week three this season at Indianapolis with a 61-yard return for a score.
MIKE WALKER HAS BREAKOUT GAME
Second-year wide receiver Mike Walker produced career-high receiving numbers with 107 yards on six receptions with a long of 32. Walker had a 32-yard reception, two receptions of 18 yards and receptions of 16 and 14 yards. He is the first Jaguar to surpass 100 yards receiving in a game this year. He averaged 17.8 yards on the six receptions.
JONES-DREW GETS IN THE END ZONE; SURPASSES 100 CAREER RECEPTIONS AND 1,000 CAREER RECEIVING YARDS
Maurice Jones-Drew scored his 29th career touchdown with a one-yard run in the first quarter. Jones-Drew has 29 touchdowns in the last 34 games including 25 career rushing touchdowns, the third-most in team history. In addition, Jones-Drew finished with six receptions for 23 yards and surpassed 100 career receptions and 1,000 career receiving yards. Jones-Drew, who has 105 career receptions, joined Fred Taylor (277) and James Stewart (119) as the only running backs in franchise history to accomplish the feat. He is the fourth-fastest player to reach 1,000 career receiving yards in team history as he did it his 36th career game, trailing Matt Jones (30 games), Pete Mitchell (31 games) and Ernest Wilford (32 games).
HENDERSON PLAYS IN 100TH CAREER GAME; RECORDS 25TH CAREER SACK
Defensive tackle John Henderson played in his 100th career game tonight as a Jaguar and recorded his 25th career sack. Henderson is the only the 14th player in team history to play in 100 career games. Henderson has a sack in three consecutive games against Pittsburgh.
SPICER REGISTERS 26TH CAREER SACK
Defensive end Paul Spicer registered his first sack of the season and 26th of his career. Spicer ranks fourth in team history with 26 sacks.
GARRARD SURPASSES 7,000 CAREER PASSING YARDS
David Garrard finished 18 of 32 passing for 200 yards with one touchdown for an 85.4 passer rating. Garrard has a touchdown pass in nine of the last 11 games. He surpassed the 7,000 career passing yard mark.
