JU dedicates baseball locker room to longtime supporter during Alumni Game
     POSTED 10/15/2008 - Curtis Alexander, father of head baseball coach Terry Alexander, was honored for his dedication, hard work and support for JU baseball over the past 28 years by having the Dolphin locker room bear his name with a ceremony on Oct. 11.

Dolphins prepare for quick trip to Morehead State
     POSTED 10/15/2008 - It’s not often that the players on the JU football team get to sleep in their own beds on the night before a road game. But that is the case this week as the Dolphins will fly out early on Saturday morning for a critical Pioneer Football League contest against Morehead State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

Rowing takes home four medals at First Coast Head Race
     The JU rowing teams got a great start to the 2008-09 season by hosting its annual alumni race, dedicating four boats and then capturing four medals (three gold, one silver) at the First Coast Head Race. In the Alumni Race, two men’s and one women’s alumni boats competed against the Varsity 8 and two Novice 8 boats to kick things off.

Florida State begins preparation for NC State on Thursday night
Seminoles to face Wolfpack on national television
     In what was considered a "modified Monday practice" the Florida State football team began its preparations for Thursday night's game at NC State. The Seminoles practiced in shells (shoulder pads and helmets) for 18 periods as they began implementing their game plan for their game against the Wolfpack.

Bulldogs Knock Off Tennessee, 26-14
     Matthew Stafford passed for a career-best 310 yards, Knowshon Moreno ran for 101 yards and No. 10 Georgia beat Tennessee 26-14 on Saturday. Freshman kicker Blair Walsh kicked four field goals. His final one came after a 17-play drive consumed 10:55 in the final quarter.

No. 11 Florida dominates No. 4 LSU, 51-21
     At the 55th meeting of the University of Florida and Louisiana State University, the No. 11 Gators (5-1, 3-1 SEC) upset the No. 4 Tigers (4-1, 2-1), 51-21, in front of a crowd of 90,684 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Saturday night. Led by a stellar defense and an electrifying offensive charge, the Gators racked up 475 yards of offense, including 265 yards rushing against the Tigers.
