With election near, candidate forums still active With election near, candidate forums still activeWith the election looming just weeks away, voters will get their last chances to see their candidates in action. The presidential candidates are meeting Wednesday in their final televised debate before the November 4 election. Local candidates will also have a last opportunity to share their platform with several rallies around the north Florida area. BAKER COUNTY Candidate Rally Baker County’s hometown newspaper, The Baker County Press in conjunction with the Baker County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a candidate rally on Saturday, October 18 beginning a 10:00 a.m. The rally will be held at the Baker County Fairgrounds. NASSAU COUNTY Candidates Forums The AIFBY Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with the Nassau County Bar Association for a candidates' forum Oct. 23 at the Historic Downtown Courthouse (416 Centre Street) at 5:30 p.m.
County, state and federal candidates, including sitting Congressman Ander Crenshaw (R-District 4) have been invited to attend.
Each candidate will have two minutes to speak and then will be asked questions specific to the office they are seeking.

Candidates for county commission and sheriff will discuss fiscal responsibility at a forum at 7:00 p.m. October 16 in county commission chambers, James S. Page Governmental Complex, 96160 Nassau Place Road, Yulee. The forum is sponsored by AARP, Friends of the Library and Young Professionals Council.
