Lake City man charged in cocaine trafficking

POSTED 10/15/2008 - A search warrant on a Lake City Avenue home resulted in the arrest of one man and the confiscation of more than 240 grams of cocaine.

Terry Alonza Brown, 36, was arrested Thursday by members of the Multi-jurisdictional Drug Task Force at his home. He was charged with trafficking cocaine, manufacturing of cocaine base, tampering with evidence and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Inside the home, Task Force members found more than $1,000 in cash, portable scales and suspected steroid tablets. They also found metal pots, silverware and containers with secret compartments – all with cocaine residue.

Brown was booked into the Columbia County Jail on $131,000 bond and remained there Monday.

The Task Force is made up of representatives from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Lake City Police Department, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
