Part 1-Who You Gonna Call?

My Health Quest

Part 1 -Who You Gonna Call?

I’ve either lost my mind, or this is going to be a great idea. Isn’t that the sign of being a genius, it’s either a crazy idea or its brilliant? I don’t know the answer, but I’m going to let you be the judge. What I’m getting at is this. For what I think is going to be probably the next year of my life, I’m going to include you in my journey to hopefully take off about 125 pounds. That’s right, I said 125 pounds.

I’m sure some of you are already thinking this guy could be the biggest loser, but that’s a whole other story in itself. I’m talking about shedding the weight that I gained due to no help from my

recently diagnosed sleep apnea and just bottom line poor health choices made on my part. I figure now would be a great opportunity to do this. I have just turned forty-five years old and my youngest is now six. She has already told me how she wants me to be skinny and be able to play with her without making excuses as to why I can’t keep up with her.

So here is how it’s going to go. Every two weeks I am going to submit a column or diary entry if you will, tracking my successes and hopefully, not too many set backs. I’m sharing this with our readers for two reasons. The first more selfish than the latter, but either way I have the best intentions in mind. I’m going to need accountability on this journey, I figure if all of our readers are involved in this process, I have a better chance of success knowing every two weeks I better stick to the plan. Secondly, if there is anyone else trying to make a change in their lives, they can maybe gain some encouragement and self discipline from my challenges and successes over the next twelve months.

It’s going to be a slow and arduous journey to success, but with your prayers and encouragement I know I will be able to succeed. I look at it this way, what have I got to lose? Getting off of a hypertension regiment, being able to buy clothes off the rack again, and be there when my now six year old graduates from high school, college and hopefully walk her down the isle at her wedding? It will be worth it and then some.
