Colt Ford will perform at Colgate Country Showdown’s State Finals

SPIRIT OF THE SUWANNEE MUSIC PARK, LIVE OAK, FL - Hold on to your hats, country fans, not only will the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park be hosting the statewide finals for the Colgate Country Showdown Nov. 1, but one of the newest and hottest country stars around, Colt Ford, will be the featured entertainer that night.

Colt Ford

Colt has risen to stardom quickly. Described as a hefty portion of Southern charm, a dash of country living, a pinch of urban style all washed down with a sweet, fresh sound, he’s taken the music business by storm as he writes his own songs using a blend of many American musical styles including country, rock, hip-hop, rap and rhythm and blues.

Tickets are on sale now, but we must warn you…it will be a sellout and the number of tickets that can be sold for this event in the Music Hall is limited. You need to get your tickets now before they are LONG GONE! Tickets are $15 each in advance, $20 at the door if any are available on Nov. 1.

This event is being brought to you through the efforts of the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Kevin Thomas of Kickin Creations. Thomas, a popular North Florida DJ with Q98.1 in Live Oak, said he’s producing the concert to bring great talent like Colt Ford to the area. "He’s a friend of a friend, that’s how it happened," Thomas said this week. During the Colgate Country Showdown, Colt Ford will not only perform, but announce the winner of the Colgate Country Showdown, Thomas said.

The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park has throughout the years brought the best of the best in country, bluegrass and other music genres to the area, including new and upcoming talent. With this event, the SOSMP continues that tradition in conjunction with Kickin Creations.

Friends, if you want to be part of this fantastic evening of country music, see Colt Ford and see who the winner of the entire state of Florida in the Colgate Country Showdown will be, go to www.musicliveshere.com right now and purchase your tickets.

Fans from all over Florida will be at this event to cheer on their favorite regional winner in the state Colgate Country Showdown. Winners from across Florida will be competing for the state title and a chance to go to national regionals. The regional winners from across the nation will then go to Nashville in January 2009 to compete for the national Colgate Country Showdown title of Best New Country Act in America and win the $100,000 cash prize. You can bet each of the state contestants, including North Florida’s own Amy Maree of Jacksonville, will bring with them a huge cheering section.

Colt Ford will bring his own cheering section of rabid fans who just love this guy and want to be part of his very first appearance in this area. This is a rare appearance for him in Florida, and you likely won’t get another chance to see him locally in person for a while. Colt wrote "Buck ‘Em," the song which has been adopted as the new Professional Bull Riding (PBR) anthem. Colt made his musical and video debut on national television at the VERSUS Invitation Pro Bull Riding Competition in Madison Square Garden in January of 2007 with that song. His current album is Ride Through The Country, with such songs as "Mr. Goodtime," "Good God O Mighty," "Tailgate," "Cold Beer" and "Trash In My Trailer." He’s mixing all the right ingredients together in a recipe for success with new country music.
