Who is running for President?
Who is running for President?
With only days until our nation decides who will be our next President and Vice President, I think it is important that we clarify who exactly is running for which office. The liberal media would have you think that the Republican ticket has Governor Sarah Palin running for President against
the Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama. It is simple to understand why they are doing this.
If the media were to position Senator John McCain for President against Senator Barack Obama for President, it would be painfully obvious to the American electorate that Senator Obama is the lesser qualified of the two. This election is about who will be the next President of the United States, not who will be the next Vice President.
Within the last 45 years, only one Vice President has assumed the office of President of the United States because the sitting President was assassinated. Governor Sarah Palin is not running for the President. Liberal media stop portraying the office of the Vice Presidency as any more than what it is.
According to our founding fathers, the office of the Vice President was clearly an afterthought at the Constitutional Convention. With the overwhelming concern of how to establish a governing leader without looking and feeling like the King of England, succession was the least important to the delegates. Other than serving as the President of the Senate (a role which only allows the Vice President to cast votes when the Senate is deadlocked in a tie), the Vice President has no formal constitutional authority.
If it is going to be a race of who is going to be our next Vice President, then let’s put Governor Sarah Palin heads up against Senator Joe Biden and throw out the other candidates. The liberal media has got their wires crossed. The vote is for who will be our next President, the issue of succession should be the least important of our concerns, it was to those who founded this great nation - isn’t that good enough after all?
