Baseball participates in Trinity Rescue Mission
     The JU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has established a reputation as a strong supporter of the local community and this year is no different as all 35 members of the JU baseball team served as volunteers for the Trinity Rescue Mission on Oct. 23.

Basketball season ticket drive going strong
     The JU basketball season ticket drive is off to a strong start, with three weeks remaining before the season opener against Florida State on Nov. 15. At this point, there have been twice as many season tickets sold as last season.

UPSET: JU shocks San Diego, 30-29
     Donovan Curry’s 50-yard field goal capped a 10-point rally in the final five minutes as the JU football team upset three-time defending Pioneer Football League champion San Diego, 30-29, on Saturday at D.B. Milne Field.

‘Noles over Virginia Tech, 30-20
     Penalties have hurt the Seminoles in almost every game this season and the yellow flag appeared ready to doom the Noles early in Saturday's game. However, a roughing the punter call against Virginia Tech (5-3, 2-2)with seven minutes left in the third quarter turned the game around for FSU giving the Seminoles their first victory against a team with a winning record this season.

Florida tops Kentucky, 63-5
     In front of a Homecoming crowd of 90,589 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday, No. 5 Florida (6-1, 4-1 SEC) defeated Kentucky (5-3, 1-3 SEC), 63-5. The win marked the 22nd-straight Gator win against the Wildcats and the 19th-straight Homecoming victory.

Bulldogs pick off LSU with 52-38 win
     The Georgia Bulldogs sent a hush over Tiger Stadium with a decisive win over LSU on Saturday. The game showcased two of the best running backs in the Southeastern Conference, and neither disappointed. Knowshown Moreno gained 163 yards, while LSU's Charles Scott gained 144 yards and scored two touchdowns.
