Jacksonville University students to host Fall Fashion Show

Event to benefit local charities

JACKSONVILLE, FL. - Members of the Jacksonville University Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) will host a fall fashion show on November 5 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in conjunction with Art Walk at the Jacksonville Landing. The show will serve as the students’ senior project and is free to the public.

The show will include a canned food drive to support The Children’s Home Society of Florida, Sulzbacher Center and Second Harvest Food Bank and feature clothing donated by Anomaly Inc. in Jacksonville.

The three seniors who will be coordinating the event with the assistance of FPRA are Akema Cooper, Cassandra Spalding and Kimberly Zavon. In addition, there will be live entertainment for the first hour and a half of the Art Walk, which runs from 5 to 9 p.m.

"We wanted to come up with a fun and creative way to give back to the community," said Spalding, president of JU’s FPRA chapter. "Donating canned food items is an easy way to help our community, and we encourage everyone to come out and have a good time while supporting a great cause."

For more information on FPRA, visit www.fpra.org. For more information on the fashion show, contact Cassandra Spalding at cspaldi@jacksonville.edu or Dennis Stouse at 904-256-7105.
