Tickets have sold so fast for the combination event that the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park has moved the event outside to the amphitheatre where thousands of fans can be accommodated. Be sure to bring fold up chairs as it will be festival seating at the amphitheatre. Fans are expected to travel to Live Oak from all over to see the competition and cheer for their favorites. Colt Ford fans, too, will be traveling to the event as tickets for this event have sold quickly at the SOSMP, leading to the change in venue to accommodate even more fans. Six winners from across Florida will be vying for the state Colgate Country Showdown winner title which will send just one of them on to regionals. At regionals, the winner there will go to Nashville in January 2009 to vie with other regional winners for the Best New Country Act in America title and $100,000 in cold, hard cash! The folks competing this Saturday, Nov. 1, in Live Oak are just two steps away from that big money. The winner Saturday night at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park will receive $1,000. Colt has only been on the music scene for a little more than one year and has taken America by storm with his own songs, music and country rap. He blends his styles of country, rock, hip-hop and rhythm and blues with such titles as "Trash In My Trailer." Kickin’ Kevin Thomas of WQHL98.1 in Live Oak will be the emcee for the evening. Thomas and his Kickin’ Creations Company are bringing Colt Ford to the event Saturday in coordination with the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. "He’s a friend of a friend, that’s how it happened," Thomas said. Colt wrote "Buck ‘Em," the song which has been adopted as the new Professional Bull Riding (PBR) anthem. He made his musical and video debut on national television at the VERSUS Invitation Pro Bull Riding Competition in Madison Square Garden in January of 2007 with that song. Colt’s current album is Ride Through The Country, with such songs as "Mr. Goodtime," "Good God O Mighty," "Cold Beer" and "Tailgate," Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the gate.
