Recreational Gulf red snapper and South Fla. spotted sea trout seasons close Nov. 1
     The recreational harvest seasons for red snapper in the Gulf of Mexico and spotted seatrout in South Florida will close on Nov. 1. These closures occur each year to help rebuild overfished red snapper stocks in the Gulf and maintain the abundance of spotted seatrout in Florida waters.

Duck hunting rules change on Tallahassee area lakes
     Under the first change, waterfowl hunters may now use internal combustion motors of 10 horsepower or less on Lake Miccosukee in Leon and Jefferson counties. Motor restrictions during the waterfowl season on Carr Lake and Lake Iamonia in Leon County have not changed.
