Amelia Community Theatre will present "Coming Apart"

Amelia Community Theatre will present "Coming Apart"

"Coming Apart" examines the circumstances of marriage and divorce. Told partly in flash-back, it is the story of Frances and Colin Kittridge. She is a successful author of bodice-ripper romantic novels, he a syndicated columnist with a penchant for humorous anecdotes. Married for over twenty years, they both announce that they want a divorce!

We share the story of their meeting, courtship and marriage with contributions from, Sylvia Mallinson who is literary agent for both Frances and Colin; Bert Stockton, a long-time friend of the couple as well as Colin’s drinking pal and confidant.

The play is set in New York and the action is brisk. Anyone who remembers hearing Maurice Chevalier sing the song, "I remember it well," from the musical, Gigi, will immediately feel at home with much of the dialogue.
