The JU women’s cross country team had four runners earn all-conference honors to guide the Dolphins to a program-best second place finish at the Atlantic Sun Championships on Saturday in Macon, Ga. More ... The JU rowing teams are off to a fast start in 2008-09 as the Dolphins took home six medals at The Head of the Hooch, Saturday on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tenn. JU, which has tallied 10 medals in two fall races thus far, had each of its men’s boat medal in every event they competed in. Florida State women’s cross country took top honors this morning as they were named the 2008 ACC Champions in the 6K conference run. The Seminoles grabbed five out of the top ten spots while also having two runners set personal records. The men’s team came in at fourth with one Seminole coming in the top ten. More ... The No. 5 Gators defeated No. 8 Georgia, 49-10, in front of a crowd of 84,649 at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium Saturday. The win moves the Gators to 13-5 against ranked opponents under head coach Urban Meyer and brings UF to 7-1 (5-1 SEC), while Georgia falls to 7-2 (4-2 SEC). More ... A week after the biggest win in school history, the JU football team couldn’t be faulted for having a letdown against Butler. Instead, the Dolphins (6-3, 4-1 PFL) had one of its most dominating performances of the season to knock hand the Bulldogs (6-2, 4-1 PFL) their first loss in the Pioneer Football League, 45-9.
