Baker County Sheriff Joey Dobson
Dobson reelected by landslide

MACCLENNY, FL - Baker County Sheriff Joey Dobson easily won reelection with a landslide 82 percent victory over his challengers.

Neither Gregory Bohannon or Timothy Smith were able to mount a viable campaign over the incumbent garnering only a small percentage of the votes.

Dobson received 8956 votes to Bohannon’s 1129. Smith came in third with only 849 votes.

Dobson was first elected as sheriff in 1997. Under his supervision, the Baker County Sheriff’s Office has one of the highest percentage of solved crimes in the state. He was also instrumental in the development of a new county jail facility now under construction. Dobson is also a past president of the Florida Sheriff’s Association.

Voters also picked Baker County Pre-K/Kindergarten principal Sherrie Raulerson as the next school superintendent.

Raulerson handily defeated Vinnie Ferreira with 8232 votes or 76 percent.

Ms. Raulerson will succeed outgoing Superintendent Paula Barton.
