Union voters decide two local races

LAKE BUTLER, FL - Two local races drew voters to the polls in Union County in addition to the state and national races. Candidates were vying for the county property appraiser position as well as a District 3 county commission seat.

In the race for property appraiser, Bruce Dukes edged out incumbent Steven Saunders with 52.1 percent of the vote. Dukes received 2,735 votes to Saunders’ 2,505.

Jimmy Tallman garnered the most votes for the commission seat with 975 or 64.6 percent compared to Doyle Williams who got 534 and 35.3 percent of the votes.
