Cruise company sued over $4 million in undisclosed surcharges

NOVEMBER 6, 2008 - Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum filed a lawsuit this week against a cruise ship company, accusing the company of making about $4 million in the past two years by sneaking a surcharge onto its customers' bills. Wednesday's lawsuit was filed about half a year after McCollum reached multimillion- dollar settlements with Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises over the same issue. More...

Florida’s 27 electoral votes went to Barack Obama making him the first Democratic presidential candidate to win the Sunshine State since Bill Clinton in 1996, and only the second since Jimmy Carter in 1976.
