Baldwin Coach's Corner

Game 8
By HEAD COACH ANDY GIDDENS

Baldwin Coach's Corner

Game 8

Everyone says it's better to be lucky than good sometimes. We proved that to be true this past Friday night. We, as a team, were out-played and out-coached against a very determined Bishop Snyder football team. Coach Bobby Harrison and his staff had each and every one of his players ready for this game. The Bishop Snyder Cardinals came into this game the more physical team, the more aggressive team, and the team with more heart. There was no doubt they were the team that wanted this win more. Luckily, we snuck away with a 21 to 15 win to bring our overall record to 5 wins and 3 losses. That win kept any hope we have for a playoff spot alive and also ensured us of being bowl eligible. But my hat goes off to the entire Bishop Snyder football program for the job they did this past Friday night.

Now, this week's game. Trinity Christian is no stranger to anyone who knows Jacksonville high school football. Trinity is a perennial state powerhouse who always starts the year with ideas of another state championship. This year is no exception. They are one of the best private schools in the state but now, they stand between us and the playoffs. We have a tough task this week. David versus Goliath might be an understatement. It is our job as coaches to prepare our kids for this game and remind them all week that David did beat Goliath. The good news about this week's game is that our kids have been looking forward to a chance to prove themselves against Trinity all year long. Every small school, not just Baldwin, uses Trinity as a measuring stick. Well see this week just how we measure up.

Hope to see everyone in Baldwin for Friday's game.

GO INDIANS!!!
