NOVEMBER 13, 2008 - For the second consecutive season, Florida State's Karen Harvey was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year after leading the Seminole women to a back-to-back conference title.

"It is my honor to accept this award on behalf of Florida State University," Harvey said. "Even though my name is on the award, I want to especially thank my husband, coach Kevin Sullivan, who is an integral part my coaching success. Also none of the team's success would be possible without an incredible administration and support staff."

In just her second season at the helm of the women's program, Harvey coached the Seminoles to their second ACC cross country title in as many years. It is also the second title in the program's 17-year history in the ACC. The FSU women took the crown with 27 points to out-distance runner-up Boston College by an ACC-record 79 point margin in Chapel Hill, N.C., on November 1. All five of Florida State's runners finished in the top 10, including the 2008 league champion Susan Kuijken, who earned the title for the second straight year.

The Seminoles are currently ranked third in this week's USTFCCA poll as they prepare for the NCAA South Region Championship in Knoxville, Tenn., on November 15.
