Appointments to Florida House of Representatives, District 12

NOVEMBER 14, 2008 - Florida State House Representative Janet Adkins, District 12, announced two appointments to her district staff.

Amanda Young has been appointed as District 12 Communications Director. In this role Amanda will be responsible for all aspects of communications with constituents and the media regarding District 12 Legislative office activities. Amanda is a North Florida native with 15 years business experience in the medical and legal office management field. Most recently Amanda served as Nassau County Coordinator for the Angela Corey for State Attorney campaign and as Communications Director for the Nassau County McCain/Palin campaign. Amanda is a member of Nassau Federated Republican Women and Southside Elementary School Advisory Committee. Amanda is married to Michael and together they have a daughter, Arrington. The Young's reside in the Yulee area.

Larry Williams has been appointed as District 12 Legislative Director. In this role Larry will be responsible for coordinating policy and budget activities for the District Legislative office. Larry is a native of North Florida and grew up in Fernandina Beach. Larry has extensive business experience in several fields including mortgage banking, finance and human resources. Most recently Larry was a candidate for Nassau County Property Appraiser in the Republican primary, and served as the Chairman of the Veterans for McCain coalition for the Nassau County McCain/Palin campaign. Larry currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Florida Regional Council, the Nassau County Conditional Use and Variance Board, and is a member of the Nassau County Republican Executive Committee. Larry is married to Mindy and together they have a daughter, McKenna. The Williams' reside in Fernandina Beach.
