Search continues for Keystone Heights teen
The whereabouts of a missing 17-year-old Keystone Heights girl are unknown since the teen ran away from home on October 22. The family of Sarah Turner and Clay County Sheriff’s Office detectives are concerned that she was aided in leaving the area by a 27-year-old man who the teen considered her boyfriend.
While foul play is not suspected by authorities, the man involved, John Charles Herman, has been the subject of a prior protection order to prevent contact with Sarah Turner. Herman also has a criminal history in Clay County involving drug offenses and criminal traffic charges.
Turner’s mother, Marjorie reported the girl left their home about 3:30 a.m. on October 22, carrying a duffel bag filled with clothes.
Anyone who comes into contact with Sarah should call their local authorities. Because there are concerns that this juvenile may have traveled out of state, possibly to Kentucky, information about the case has been shared with police agencies in that state and Turner’s family have traveled to that area to search for Sarah and to distribute fliers there as well.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 264-6512.
