Florida to Honor 1998 NCAA Champion Women's Tennis Team
     NOVEMBER 12, 2008 - The seven Gators who comprised the 1998 women's tennis team and the coaching staff headed by the legendary Andy Brandi will be honored in Gainesville during the weekend of November 15th, when the University of Florida will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the team's NCAA Championship.

FSU gives Bowden a birthday win
     TALLAHASSEE - The Seminoles kept their slim chances of going to Tampa Bay to play in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship alive Saturday and handed coach Bobby Bowden a great present for his 79th birthday. After falling behind 10-0 early in the game, Florida State (7-2, 4-2) came charging back to beat the Clemson Tigers (4-5, 2-4) 41-27.

Gators clinch SEC East with 42-14 win over Vanderbilt
     The No. 4 Florida Gators defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores, 42-14, on Saturday night in front of 39,773 fans at Memorial Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. With the win, the Gators clinched the Southeastern Conference East Division and will face No. 1 Alabama in the SEC Championship Game on December 6.

Georgia pulls out win over Kentucky, 42-38
     Matthew Stafford threw for 376 yards and the go-ahead touchdown to A.J. Green with 1:54 remaining to lift No. 14 Georgia to a 42-38 win over Kentucky on Saturday. Knowshon Moreno ran for 123 yards and three scores and wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi atoned for two fumbles by hauling in a career-high eight receptions for 191 yards and a touchdown as the Bulldogs (8-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) survived a major scare from the Wildcats (6-4, 2-4).

Dolphins dominate for fifth straight win, 40-24
     Despite the dreary gray skies and cold conditions, the JU football team turned in a picture-perfect performance in a record-setting 40-24 win at Valparaiso. With the temperature only getting as high as 39, the Dolphins (7-3, 5-1 PFL) scored on four of their first five possessions to clinch their school-record setting fifth straight win.

Women’s hoops opens exhibition season with 70-35 win over Flagler
     The Dolphins got off on the right foot in the 2008-09 exhibition season as 10 players tallied at least five points to lead the JU women’s basketball team to a 70-35 win over Flagler College, Friday evening at Swisher Gymnasium.
