Veteran’s Day Parade Veteran’s Day ParadeJACKSONVILLE - Jacksonville will host its annual Veterans Day parade Tuesday beginning at 11:01 a.m. This year’s parade is themed "Forever Grateful," and will feature more than 90 active duty and retired military units, veterans groups, local high school marching bands, military organizations, decorative floats, giant balloons, JROTC units, and more. The parade’s Grand Marshals this year include Atlantic Beach residents Coast Guard Rear Adm. Rick Cueroni, former superintendent of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and Navy Capt. Don Miller, a submariner in World War II. Also serving as marshals will be Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton; Jacksonville’s oldest veteran, Vick Griffin; retired Gen. James Rinaman of the Army National Guard; and servicemen from the Wounded Warrior TRAC Program. The parade route begins at the Prime Osborn Convention Center and will follow Water Street to Newnan Street, where it will turn on Bay Street and end at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. |
