Lisa VanKlaveren has been named the new tourism coordinator for the Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau. As tourism coordinator, VanKlaveren will work closely with the special events department of Fernandina Beach, and serve as liaison with local merchants.

VanKlaveren will draw on more than 10 years of sales and customer service experience, including two years as sales assistant at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Most recently, she was based in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she worked as a flight attendant for SkyWest Airlines.

A native of Philadelphia, VanKlaveren grew up on Amelia Island and now resides in Fernandina Beach. She is married and has four children.
