$5.2 million distributed to local partners for wastewater plant improvements
     PALATKA, Fla., Nov. 18, 2008 — The St. Johns River Water Management District’s Governing Board voted Nov. 11 to disburse $5.2 million in legislative funds to local government utility partners in northeast Florida for wastewater treatment plant upgrades in the Lower St. Johns River Basin.

     NOVEMBER 18, 2008 – Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson is urging consumers to follow all safety rules and regulations posted at carnivals and fairs. The fall festival season is underway and many Florida communities have fairs this time of year. The leading cause of injury on fair rides is patron error.

Grant helps reduce stormwater pollutant loads to lower St. Johns River
     CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) joined the City of Atlantic Beach and other stakeholders today for a ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate the Hopkins Creek Regional Retention Pond, a stormwater retrofitting project that will reduce pollutant loading to the Lower St. Johns River.
