Proposal could increase college tuition
NOVEMBER 21, 2008 - Yesterday Florida Governor Charlie Crist issued his support for a plan that would give state universities the option of raising tuition up to 15 percent a year. Under the proposal, the boards of trustees at each university would have the option to establish, with Board of Governors approval, a differential tuition higher than the base rate charged to in-state undergraduates. NOVEMBER 20, 2008 – Florida’s graduation rate reached its highest point ever last year at 75.4 percent, according to results released yesterday by the Florida Department of Education (DOE).
