Secretary of State certifies Florida Election results

NOVEMBER 18, 2008 -The State Elections Canvassing Board certified the election results Monday morning in Tallahassee and President-elect Barack Obama's victory in Florida is now official.

The state's three-member Elections Canvassing Commission unanimously certified the results just 13 days after the election.

Obama won Florida by more than 236,000 votes — 51 percent to 48.2 percent — over Republican John McCain. About 75 percent of all Florida registered voters cast ballots in this election.

The results became official with the signatures of Governor Charlie Crist, Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp and Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson.
