FWC moves forward on improving state's hunting quota system
     DECEMBER 3, 2008 - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) directed staff on Wednesday to proceed with developing a new set of rules to improve the state's regulation of hunting on wildlife management areas.

Snook seasons close in December
     There are two snook harvest seasons closing in December. The first snook closure starts on Dec. 1 in all of Florida’s Gulf of Mexico, Everglades National Park and Monroe County coastal and inland waters. The harvest season for snook will remain closed until March 1 in these areas.
