Baseball announces Winter Hitting Clinic on Dec. 20-21
The JU baseball team has announced the addition of the Todd Claus Winter Hitting Clinic on Saturday, Dec. 20 and Sunday, Dec. 21, from 9 a.m. - Noon at John Sessions Stadium. Run by new JU hitting instructor Todd Claus, this limited camp ($90) is designed for players interested in intensified hitting instruction. The clinic will be structured to improve a young players swing and overall hitting approach. Campers will learn to make more consistent contact and leave with a better understanding of their swing and the manner in which it works. Claus will teach campers time-tested, professional drills that apply to all ages, and will pay dividends for years to come. The limited enrollment will also ensure personal attention. Todd Claus, an advance scout for the Boston Red Sox the past two years and a veteran with 17 years of professional baseball, was Baseball America’s Minor League "Manager of the Year" in 2006 after leading the Portland Sea Dogs to an Eastern League title. During his time in the minor leagues as both a manager and hitting instructor, he coached over 30 major league players including 2008 American League MVP Dustin Pedroia and local phenom Jonathan Papelbon. For more information on the clinic and registration, call Todd Claus at (904) 256-7414 or Email: tclaus@ju.edu.
