City officials celebrate the completion of Mayport Road improvements
     JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 3, 2008 – Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton and Atlantic Beach Mayor John Meserve were joined today by Jacksonville City Council Member Art Graham and other community leaders for a dedication ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Mayport Road resurfacing and median construction project.

Mobile office to issue driver licenses, ID cards at holiday celebration this weekend
     GREEN COVE SPRINGS/December 4, 2008 - The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is pleased to announce its partnership with the city of Green Cove Springs to bring services directly to customers, saving them a possible trip to our offices.      MACCLENNY, Fla./December 2, 2008 - On Saturday. December 6, the City of Macclenny will host their annual Lighted Christmas Parade and Festivities. Downtown Macclenny will be the place to be with more than art, craft, and food booths opening at 10:00 a.m. Games and rides for the kids will also be available along Macclenny Avenue (US 90).

Baker County gets new sheriff -Temporarily
     MACCLENNY, Fla./December 2, 2008 - State regulations have forced a local sheriff to resign from office in order to secure his benefits in the Florida DROP retirement system. Baker County Sheriff Joey Dobson resigned from his post effective at midnight on Monday morning.

Mayor announces plan for continued investments to keep Jacksonville working
     JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 1, 2008 – Mayor John Peyton announced today that while the national economic downturn has negatively affected the city’s revenue streams that support infrastructure investments, the City of Jacksonville plans to continue moving forward with $100 million in new roadway construction projects. This investment will come in addition to the approximately $250 million in Better Jacksonville Plan roadway projects that are currently under construction or in design.
