City of Macclenny hosts annual Lighted Parade and festivities
MACCLENNY, Fla./December 2, 2008 - On Saturday. December 6, the City of Macclenny will host their annual Lighted Christmas Parade and Festivities.
Downtown Macclenny will be the place to be with more than art, craft, and food booths opening at 10:00 a.m. Games and rides for the kids will also be available along Macclenny Avenue (US 90).
At 6:00 p.m. a huge fireworks display by Phantom fireworks of Macclenny will signal the start of this year’s Lighted Parade.
At the end of the parade, Santa will climb down from atop the city’s ladder truck and assist the Chamber of Commerce light the Community Christmas Tree. Presents will be available to children courtesy of the Baker County Chamber of Commerce.
Macclenny Avenue will be closed to all traffic from Sixth Street to Third Street starting at 5:00 a.m. to the end of the parade. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. Macclenny Avenue will be completely closed down to all traffic from Lowder Street to East Boulevard for the parade. Detour routes are North, South, East and West Boulevard’s around the city.
Portable restrooms will be located along the parade route and around the booths for public use.
