Regions Bank to present "A Choral Christmas Card" by JU music program Regions Bank to present "A Choral Christmas Card" by JU music programCandlelight processional, Christmas carols, motets and anthems will be found when the choirs of Jacksonville University conducted by Jon O. Carlson present "A Choral Christmas Card" A Christmas Choral Concert, including seasonal music for the holidays on Thursday, December 4 at 7:30 P. M. in Terry Concert Hall at Jacksonville University. The program will open with the processional "Ave Maria" by Giulio Caccini. Following the processional, the Concert Choir will present "Ecce Virgo Concipiet" by Jan Pieters Sweelinck and "Ave Maria" by Franz Biebl. The Concert Choir will also sing two choruses from Handel’s MESSIAH. The JU Chamber Singers will follow with "O Magnum Mysterium" and "Hodie, Christus natus est" by Francis Poulenc and "Ose Shalom" by John Leavitt. The Men’s Chorus will then sing "Hodie, Christus Natus Est" and "Infant Holy, Infant Lowly" by Robert Reid. The Women’s Chorus will sing "The Other Night," by Ron Soderwall and "Sweet Little Jesus Baby" by Walter Ehret. Following intermission the JU Chamber Singers will perform "O Come, All Ye Faithful," and "Jesu, Son Most Sweet and Dear" by Jackson Berkey, keyboardist for the Mannheim Steamroller. The program will conclude with the Concert Choir singing "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Joy to the World" "Jingle Bells" and "Peace," a Shaker song with a candlelight recessional. This concert is guaranteed to lift the spirits and put everyone in the holiday mood. The public is cordially invited to attend the concert.
