AMELIA ISLAND -- The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce has installed its officers for 2009.

Sean McGill, president of McGill Aviation Corporation, will serve as chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Sean McGill, president of McGill Aviation in Fernandina Beach, Florida, is the 2009 Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce.

"I’m excited to have the opportunity to talk about small business, which I love to do," McGill said. McGill Aviation, the fixed base operation at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, has been a member business of the Chamber since 1998.

McGill’s goals for the Chamber in the coming year are to continue to communicate the successes of the Chamber’s small businesses, help those businesses share strategies for success with each other and increase cooperation among Nassau County’s various business membership organizations as their members face challenging economic times.

"We’re all in this together," McGill said. "I believe the rising tide floats all boats."

The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce represents 900 businesses which employ 10,000 workers. Its Board of Directors provides guidance to develop solutions to confront the important issues facing the Nassau County business community. The mission of the Board of Directors is to promote a vibrant business environment and economic prosperity through vision, expertise and innovative solutions.

"Sean not only is a successful businessman, he’s an inspiring leader, making him the right person at the right time to serve as our Chairman," said Regina Duncan, president of the Chamber of Commerce. "Today, as ever, the Chamber is here to promote the success and growth of businesses. Sean and the entire Chamber leadership will work to enhance our ability to ensure a healthy and vibrant economy for Nassau County."

Also at the leadership helm for the Chamber in 2009 will be Paul Audet, The Surf Restaurant, chairman elect; George Langstaff, Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation, treasurer; and James L. Shroads, attorney, immediate past president.
