Florida State Headed To Champs Sports Bowl

The Seminoles (8-4) will square off with the Wisconsin Badgers (7-5) December 27th

The Florida State football program extended its bowl streak to 27 straight, a mark that leads the nation, Sunday evening when the Seminoles (8-4) accepted an invitation to the Champs Sports Bowl, which will be held December 27th at 4:30 p.m. at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla. The Seminoles will square off with the Wisconsin Badgers (7-5) and the game will be televised on ESPN.

"We are excited to be headed to the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando," Florida State Director of Athletics Randy Spetman said. "We feel that playing in Orlando gives our fans and our community a fantastic opportunity to not only come to the game, but participate in the events surrounding the game. We are also very pleased to be playing a quality opponent in the Wisconsin Badgers of the Big Ten. Florida State has never played Wisconsin in football so this will be a real treat."

The contest will be the first meeting between Florida State and Wisconsin however the Seminoles hold an 8-2-1 record all-time vs. current Big Ten opponents. FSU has played five of the 11 Big Ten schools including Indiana (1-0), Michigan (1-1), Michigan State (2-0), Ohio State (3-0) and Penn State (1-1-1). The last time FSU faced a Big Ten opponent was in the 2006 Orange Bowl when the Seminoles fell to Penn State in a 26-23 triple overtime thriller.
