Two arrested for illegal dumping

Two arrested for illegal dumping

Two men were arrested this week by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on Clay County warrants for Commercial Littering. Environmental Crimes detectives believe these two suspects are responsible for illegally dumping 1,904 cubic feet of tree and shrub debris in various areas of Keystone Heights.

Shawn Tennant, 40, and Richard Joseph Sr., 49, were arrested this week on the warrants and $30,000 bond each. Each man is charged with commercial littering/improper disposal of waste, according to arrest affidavits. It would have cost these suspects less than $100 to legally dispose of the debris at the county's landfill.

Tennant owns Eager Beaver Tree Service and Joseph was an employee.

Tennant, of Pomona Park, also has a criminal history that involves an arrest for Exploitation of the Elderly in Clay County. Joseph is from Lake Como.
